I don't now of any 'simple' ones but maybe somebody else does. The most popular free great graphics program is called GIMP. I have downloaded it and looked at it and it can do a lot. But I didn't want to spend the time to relearn how to do everything at the moment.

I do remember somebody posting some web ones as well. But it sounds like you have found some of them already.
