Client/server mode requires your touchscreen to be attached to a seperate PC (the client), and the commands are sent across the network to your game PC (running TB in server mode). If you are trying to run it in client mode, without a server anywhere, its not going to work
![]() Just sorting out some new hardware here, then today is R&D day for me, so I`ll take a look at this just as soon as I can. Can you tell me which touchscreen make/model you have, and if you used the drivers from the CD that came with the screen, or downloaded them from the website?

Are you planning to implement oders like "hold fire", "stealth" etc. also in the tab "Squad" - only found it in Tank Squadron... Despite of your great work i am still hanging on the same problem. Could it be the Server/Client mode that i have to use (not knowing how....)? |

This is what I`ll check this afternoon... I have both client/server and local touchscreen setups, so i`ll try both...
(Got that kind of "oh sh_t!" feeling in my brain about this issue...)

Using a Hami 8' Touch-Screen, not using the CD-drivers (since they already made problems....). I have downloaded "Touchkit" which really works fine in all other games (LockOn, Falcon4, FSX etc.) First I thougt that the problem is a result of the usage of my mouse in ArmA - in my flightsims i doesnt need the mouse, so there is no conflict when touching my TS. But then i rememberd, that in LockOn my mouse is beeing used to aim with my mavericks - so TB should affect my Mav-aim when beeing used, but it doesnt, everything is fine... I think I need a way to tell ArmA, that my TS is not a second desktop and the mouse-orders from the TS will not affect ArmA... Maybe this is only possible in Server/Client - mode, unfortunately I have no second PC left... |

Yes, eventually, I will get the Squad Commands over to TB. I released this early, hopefully to help you out with your problem. Zorlac has said he will look in to it this afternoon for you (even though he seems to be going through an "oh sh_t" kind of moment). You will also noticed, that I removed the "Whole Armoured Squad" Commands. As they didn't want to work to well. However, Selecting All, then issuing an order, works OK. Also, the Re-Arm and Repair icons can only be used when near to the Support vehicles. When they are not in the area, the option to use them is not available. |

Right, just done a quick test... and got some good news and some bad news.
The Good news is that I know what the problem is. The Bad news is that that there isnt much I can do about it... Err... so, really there is no good news to be honest. This is what is happenning to you: You start the game, you press the touchscreen and you end up firing your gun instead. At a system event level, what is happening is: You start the game, you press the screen, the touchscreen drivers move the mouse across to the touchscreen and then create a left mouse button down+up event, and the game is seeing the mouse move and the mouse left click (i.e the fire button on your mouse), even though the click is not generated within the game window area. I had a sneaky feeling about this earlier when I asked Snake_Eyes if he was running in Local or Client/Server mode. In local mode, because the touchscreen is attached to the PC that the game is running on, the game is seeing the mouse move + click that is generated by the touchscreen, but in client/server mode, where the touchscreen is attached to a seperate PC, the mouse move + click is generated on the client machine, and is not seen by the PC playing the game (the server). TouchBuddy only sends the macros for the buttons, not the move+click. I also tried it with Operation Flashpoint, and the same thing happens. I know we have had the "mouse move is rotating the camera view" issues in flight sims for a while, but no one as yet has even mentioned about the touchscreen click creating a left button event that fires weapons, and it hadnt even crossed my mind until earlier this morning whilst I was thinking about it all. Hence me "Oh Sh_t!" comment.... I was hoping it was something odd with ArmA, or some part of my code that could be changed, but the more I thought about it, the worse it got ![]() Crap ![]()
