running client/server on the same machine wont help.... your machine will still see a "left mouse button down" event when you press the touchscreen

Nothing I can do about it really. If the game is seeing mouse moves and mouse clicks (which is what the touchscreen is emulating), then it will always have this problem.

Guess I'll have this same problem. I got ArmA a few weeks ago, and also run in Local mode. But when I get a new pc sometime, I'll use this pc for my TB setup.
I'm kind of waiting on Vista to get more stable, and going to go with one of the new Quad Core's maybe from Intel. I recently realized my Dell only has 1 gig! I thought I put a second gig into it a year and a half ago, but I only added a 1/2 gig to my original 1/2 gig. It only has 4 slots and to get 2 512 meg chips will be about $380. Not worth it really. Plus my video card has been acting funny the past few months, so I'll need to fix that someday.

I've worked out a solution for this problem that works well.
I've set up a virtual machine using VMWare and run a virtual windowsXP inside it. I uninstalled all the touch screen drivers from the host PC (but the host still sees the screen as a screen, just not a touch screen) and then installed the drivers /within/ the virtual machine. I then run a server/client touch buddy setup between the host machine and the virtual machine and make sure the virtual machine's display window is placed on the touch screen display. Works a treat. There's no lag in response time ( i thought there might be but no) and even though i'm essentially loading two lots of Windows, two lots of touchbuddy and the ArmA game (plus whatever other apps are running!) into RAM it hasn't even effected my frame rate in game. It's hardly elegant but it's /a/ solution! |

Thanks. Here's a pic of the whole thing in action... Prepare yourselves....
![]() And before the eagle-eyed spot it in the pic, yes I do work for PC Format magazine in the UK. I'm going to feature this set-up in the mag next month. Last edited by zorlac : 06-06-2007 at 02:30 PM. |

Nice Setup! So, do you get to play games for 'work' too? Sweet!
