Wild Bill,
I'm updating my Falcon 4.0 AF profile and I wanted to know how to add the right/left arrows that will permit me to scroll the tabs right or left? I couldn't tell from looking at other profiles as to what was needed to view them in either the TB Toolkit or TB exe? Bill |

If you are talking about the Tab in TB, I think those arrows display automatically if the number of tabs won't fit on the screen.

WBK,
Interesting.......the number of tabs in my Falcon AF profile exceeds what can be displayed, but no arrows automatically appear that permit me to scroll to the hidden ones so I can view them. This happens in both the Touchbuddy Toolkit as well as when running TB EXE. In order to edit the tabs in the tool kit, I have to pull down the tabs menu and reorder the sequence so I can view and edit the particular tab. Bill |

Hmm.... That is weird. AFAIK, there is no setting in TB that you have to turn on/off. But that is something you could look for in the config file. In the Toolkit I didn't do anything either. The Tabstrip automatically sees it won't fit, and puts those arrows on there for you.

It's weird that you are having these two problems (FSX/FS9) and I have not ever heard of them before from anyone. Maybe you should post your pc specs? I don't know what else to tell you...

WBK,
The PC my Touchbuddy tool kit is running is different from my flight sim PC. I forgot to mention that when I load into Toudhbuddy toolkit or Touchbuddy EXE, that MagnumF4AF14.tbc's profile works as I'd expect. It shows the right and left arrow when running under these two environments. The conclusion I can draw is that this issue is not related to my PC and it's particular environment. My next step on the profile I'm having issues with, is to add a few more tabs (Element, Wingman, and Flight) to see if the right and left arrows appear. So I'm not sure why they don't appear when running my profile. If you like, I can send the profile for you to take a look at it? Sorry about my unique issues. I just want you to know that there is a workaround for this Falcon AF profile, and I really like the features TouchBuddy SW has to offer, inspite of the problems I have been experiencing. I can certainly use it for all the combat sims I frequently fly. FS9 and FSX need more investigation on my part. BC |

No problem trying to help you. Sometimes I just can't think of an answer. TB does so much stuff, and there are parts of it I have never tried, like Client/Server. And others that I have not even thought about in a long, long time...
After I thought about this tabstrip problem, something did come to mind. In the Toolkit, open the Tab Editor. Look at the top/right hand corner. There is a checkbox for Mulit-Line tabs. I do remember there was a time when I had a tabstrip that would not show all the tabs. The problem was that I set the 'Tab Height' to a large value, and the first row of tabs filled up the area, so the second row was off the screen. Your problem may be related to these options. Try checking/unchecking this Multi-Line Tabs Option. At the same time, set the Tab height to a small value like 10, and the Font Size to 8 or 10 also. WBK

WBK,
Unchecking "Multi-line" did the trick.........now I have the right and left arrows. I don't know how I missed that when I was comparing two profiles (one that worked vs mine that didn't). Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. Case closed, Bill |

Glad to hear it. If I were you, I would PM other users here who have posted about FSX/FS9, and ask if they would test your profile's Trim. You might get that one solved as well this way...

WBK,
Thanks for your help on this issue. I'm going to finish off my Falcon F4.0 AF profile first and then return to FS9/FSX. I would like to post this new profile, once it is debugged and tested on this site. However, I have used major parts of other contributors profiles to piece together one I intend to use. So I assume as long as I give credit to those I have "borrowed" from will not upset anyone? Your suggestion about PM'ing others is a good one and I will do that later. Bill |
