I just installed my F4 CD and the new Red Viper with 6DOF, which is awesome btw. But the Touch Screen does 'not' respond when flying in the game. It works only when you are in the menus in F4RV, but not when you need it... when flying!
I also have F4AF installed and the TouchScreen works both in the game menus and while you are flying. So, I don't know if there is a fix for Red Viper?? Any help would be appreciated! WBK

I'm in Local Mode Dodger. Well it's too bad it doesn't work with RV, it is awesome with the 6DOF.

Good news!
Although TB cannot currently be used in LOCAL MODE with Red Viper, it *does* work in Client/Server mode with RV as I just did it!! Basically, I loaded it on my laptop and my RV rig. Ran RV rig as SERVER and Laptop as CLIENT... and BINGO! Works like a charm! Now I've got to go buy a touchscreen..... |

how is red viper? I just bought falcon 4.0 off amazon with the manual and all and just got it in the mail. I also have allied force but havent installed that yet either. I might just skip allied force for now and go with red viper. I heard red viper was awesome, where did you get it? I thought it was never released...
How does it compare to allied force?

Red Viper has 6DOF and is very cool to see in cockpit looking around. I have both installed because I run in Local Mode and RV captures the mouse so won't work with TB, but has 6DOF. And AF does not have 6DOF (only 2DOF I think), but I can use TB.
But both are only about 1.3 - 1.6 gig installs, so IMO it's worth looking at both. They are both awesome. I am amazed at the quality of graphics for a 9 year old game. I have the Original Falcon 4.0 game with the Binder book, and also the Prima Guide. And each of these games (AF & RV) comes with about a 700 page pdf manual).

The bittorrent version is the official version. They did this to get the game out without being served a cease and desist order. The fact is that even F4AF has stuff in it that technically violates copyright. But since LP paid the Microprose they decided not to sue. All the mods for F4 violate copyrights.
