Default Touch screen laptop + TB

I want a laptop for occasional work away from home and something to play films when I'm stuck at work and I want a touch screen to run TB for when I'm playing ArmA, SWAT4, IL2 and NFS.

Belinea - s.book

Is this going to cover all of those bases in one unit? The resolution isn't quite right, I notice. Is that going to be a big problem?

PS well done to the guys for getting the website back!

Hi Tankbuster! It's nice to have the forums back up so can help users again...

We can't recommend any products to be accountable for any problems you may have. But in my opinion this should work. If it is basically a laptop with a built-in touchscreen, and you can network it to your game pc, it should work fine.

As to the resolution, it says it's 800x480 which as you say is a little weird, but also probably ok. Most profiles here are designed for a 800x600 screen. But you can tell TB to resize any profile to a size you specify. The only thing you need to be aware of is if a large profile is resized very small, the buttons can be small, making their touch area small and hard to touch. But you could just test that now with a profile in TB and see how it looks. I use this 'profile scaling' all the time to resize 800x600 profiles down to 600x480, and it works good for me. I can't tell much difference from the original.

Good luck with you purchase...

WBK

Thumbs up Re: Touch screen laptop + TB

Thanks to Comply or Die winning at Aintree this afternoon, I have the funds to buy this laptop. Obviously, one of the very first things I'm going to do is get TB working client/server.
I'll post further reports.
