As this has been the the most frequently asked question in the last two days, here goes:
For "local" mode only: - copy the touchbuddy-export.lua file from the touchbuddy\lua folder into the "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\export\" directory - open the file "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\export\export.lua" in a text editor, scroll RIGHT down to the VERY bottom and add the line: dofile("./Config/export/touchbuddy-export.lua") - As someone else has pointed out to me, you may also want to open the file "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\export\config.lua" and ensure that the "EnableExportScript = true" - open the touchbuddy.cfg file in a text editor, and change: lomac_data_file = .\touchbuddy-export.dat to read lomac_data_file = C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\touchbuddy-export.dat For client/server, you need to do the above on the "server"... i.e the PC running the game, and the TB client will request the info from the TB server. That should do it. Obviously, if you lockon is installed somewhere other than in the default location on C: then you will have to make allowances for that when reading the above instructions

very helpful zorlac, made it very easy to set this up client/server mode.
One question, the option for imperial or metric, should imperial be set when flying a-10 and f15 and metric set when flying all the russian jets? How is it displayed in the game? Is the A10 and F15 metric in the game? I just want it to be the same as what i am used to. |

Imperial and metric applies to the mission creator and the data you see on the bar at the bottom of the screen when you're watching from external views. In LOMAC the planes that are natively Imperial (A10/F15) will show those standards. All of the Russian planes are metric, although I think the German Mig is Imperial.

the metric/imperial settings dont actually do anything useful right now, but I had to add the option for some internal code. This option will be more useful for future modules

Not used TB for some time and have reset it up.. using 2 PCs in client/server mode.
All seemed to be setup correctly however my Lomac modules seem to go offline after about 5 seconds of connecting.. i.e they initially work.. payload show current payload for example.. but then i get Data: stale with the seconds counting up after about 5 seconds of it initially working. ![]() Anyone else get this.. I'm using Win7 on both PCs if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help. |

Need som help...
Just got second pc to run TB networked and are now trying to get the Exter (update by WBK) profile to work on FC2 but I seem to be missing something to get the modules to work (TB is working fine otherwise). I can see that MCP data is saying :Offline. This is what I have done: copied touchbuddy-export.lua from touchbuddy folder into the "C:\Spel\Lock On\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\export" folder added the line "dofile("./Config/export/touchbuddy-export.lua")" to "C:\Spel\Lock On\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\export\export.lua" Verified that the "C:\Spel\Lock On\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\export\config.lua" has the line "EnableExportScript = true" Set theline "lomac_data_file = C:\Spel\Lock On\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\touchbuddy-export.dat" in the "C:\Spel\touchbuddy\touchbuddy.cfg" on the server PC I think this should be all, but apparently I have missed out on something. I have installed FC2 in a subfolder just under Lockon 1.12 So..do I need to change any settings on the client PC TB? Would be greatful for some help with this.

I have never used network mode, but it seems like you have everything setup correctly. You don't have a local touchbuddy.cfg file do you? If so, any settings in that file will override your default touchbuddy.cfg.
Also, what OS are you running? Have you tried turning off your firewalls and maybe AV just for a test?

Hi WBK it's been a while
! No local touchbuddy.cfg that can mess it up.Unfortunately, I don't have any local setup that I could test if it works in that mode, in worst case I might need to change the cables to the monitor and give it a test. If it works local, then I know for sure that first part and the config is OK at least. Then the problem must be on the client side. Don“t think it's a FW/AV issue as the rest of the profile works ok networked.(EDIT tested with both off and still no joy) It's just the TEWS and loadout that does not get any data. Might be the new FC2 setup that has some features that we don't know yet. Or just me not knowing how to work it...seems like the latter ;-) I don't know how the server is feading the client with the data. The problem might be that the client setup is not correct. I don't know if that setup needs any changes, and if so what to change. Running Vista 32 on both pcs

Vista 32? Maybe it's UAC? Tried turning that off? But it looks like you did not install it in the Program Files folder..
Good Luck.
