Yes, you can touch buttons that graphically look like a keyboard and have it send those keys to the game. But you cannot have a textbox in your TB profile to 'type' into, because TB does not have the focus of Windows, the game has the focus and receives all keystrokes.

If you mean that in DCS you can type (from the pc keyboard) some message to send to other pilots, that doesn't mean that you can do the same from a TouchBuddy virtual keyboard...it's a "focus problem", as WBK already said.
