This is my second version of my IL2 profile. I hope you like it.

This profile includes HTML Help files that are used 'in' the profile on a tab. You can also view them in Internet Explorer. This profile is designed to use several plugins that can be downloaded from the TouchBuddy website.

No, nothing else. I wrote 4 plugins and the profile, that's enough for now with that. I'd like to see the IL2 community get more interested in TB. There had not been any real cool profiles for it, so I hope this attracts some people.

Next, after a break, I may fix a few Toolkit bugs and get a release out. But I have have users post bugs with the plugins too, so that will come first.

Thanks Target. Since Zorlac was a regular on the LockOn forums, it caught on there faster I think. But since the IL2 Community had not heard about it as much, and there weren't any really graphically cool profiles out there, I think most users just gave it a pass.

So far, the profile has only had 11 downloads in all. But it's only Tuesday.

I posted on the UBI General Forum, and on the 1C forums. Are there any others with a large audience you can think of?

Hey Target. I also found a good workaround for those Hold buttons that had to be coded with both the select and deselect macros to fix network mode:

macro_select = predef:I, KEYDOWN
macro_deselect = predef:I, KEYUP

The bug fix was to code them with a dummy deselect like this:

macro_select = predef:I
macro_deselect = {}

This allows the engine to start when the button is first touched, not when it is de-selected/reset. The deselect macro does not send any keystrokes. This fix worked for all Hold buttons:

Flight Tab:
Ignition
Extinguish Fire
Drop Tanks

Radio Tab:
Squad
Wing
Wing 1 - 4

I think that's it.

Well I for one thinks this is awesome! I have been playing IL2 online since it's inception (fall of 2001) and I cannot think of anything ever having been developed that is of the same caliber as this. TrackIr is about the closest game enhancement that I can think of besides this. The benefits that I can readily see is with the bombing config that Wild Bill has setup. I can't wait to give that a go. I know this will improve anyones bombing just by not having to scroll thru the bomber views etc. I have watched both of Wild Bills videos on youtube and have nothing to say but praise. You guys have put together a heck of a package. Ok enough with the brownnosing.
As soon as my son gets time, We will be setting up a second monitor and installing touch buddy with Wild Bills modules and settings. I'd love to get the touch screen but that will have to wait for Santa Claus to toss it down my chimney. Until then we should be able to get our feet wet getting it setup and tested on just the monitor.
One question I do have is with the mouse. I do not have TrackIr so I use my joystick hat switch and my mouse to view. I fly in primarily full real servers so this is an issue if the mouse has to be dedicated to the monitor that is running touch buddy. Please tell me that it isn't so.
I have a small website and have linked this site and Wild Bills vid's to it. I'll also begin to get the word out in Hyperlobby. On weekends there is usually several hundred pilots online. I have no doubt that many will be extremely interested in this. I'll probably be bugging ya with some input if I have any difficulty with the install. Again, great work fellas!

I got my touchscreen on eBay for about $165 shipped. The seller was MP3Car.com. I see some users had to spend more money, but if you don't win a auction, just try again.

Mine is a 8" Innovatek TFT Color touchscreen TM-868 with a native res of 640x480. Screen Fonts only look on these TFT monitors at their native resolution. The desktop and graphics all look good at any supported resolution. Since TB lets you view .pdf, web, and other documents, being albe to read text is important. I would get one with a 600x800 native resolution if I did it again.

I answered this over on the 1C forums I think. Unless this is a different question? Here's what I said there:

It's the same mouse. This just lets it leave the main monitor and also move over to the other monitor. I do have TrackIR so, I don't know what it's like to do it your way. You can download the software and hookup your second monitor (you'll need a second video output: on your current card, or a second card). Then give it a test.

Personally, I would buy TrackIR before a touchscreen though... I don't know of any users who use TB, but don't have a TrackIR, so I can't ask anybody. But when you 'touch' the touchsreen, the mouse doesn't 'move', it 'jumps' the mouse to where you touched. So it may not move your view. However, when you move the cursor back to the screen, I suppose it would move your view.

Thanks alot WBK. This profile is fantastic!!. I'm just in the process of installing all the plug-ins and changing all my key configurations so this baby works as well as you planned.

The graphics are top notch and very easy to understand. Up until now I was using a profile that I just mangled together, this is so much better.

The bomb site calculator is genious. I had been using another stand alone process for this using a click thru module on a tab but I can forget that now. From personal experience, having written a few profiles, I know how demanding and time comsuming these things can be so once again, a big thanks, from me.

Thanks Primary Man. As you know, it is a lot of work just for he profile. I've had the plugins for a while, but just released them now. And glad to see your promoting it. It seems like it's going to take a while for the IL2 community go come on board.
