Thanks!

When I opened this up the window was set to 640x480, but the screen is designed for 800x600.

Also, you might want to change the Titlebar name in the Windows tab from Simple Layout to something more description.

Looks awesome!

Yeah, I havent got it set to maximise window or set window to correct size...now that i've got TB working in server/client mode I do need to tweak that.

I'll have to look where to change "simple layout" to something more useful, I hadnt even twigged to that, thanks for spotting it.

Hope you like the profile and one tip is that every time you die/crash in LOMAC, "reset" the profile to reconcile button states to state of electro systems in A/C (like power etc).

I user Fireworks also. But I have to make my background separatly. How do you get your background images out of those .png files. And what are those green lines?

Hi WBK,

The "green lines" are guides, you can show/hide those from the 'View' menu, and they can be dragged anywhere on the canvas. To add a new guide, left-click and hold the ruler at the side of your canvas and drag on to canvas = new guide.

As for the BG image, you can see that for each "Tab" PNG file there is a 'background' layer with the base colour/texture. Then in the next layer is the...er...'outlines' for the button panels. To export a BG image you hide all layers except for these two, then hit File > Export and follow the usual steps.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. And Guides are just visual queues to help line stuff up?

I have an older version of Fireworks, it's verson 4, and the Help files won't load. I have to browse to find them myself on mh hard drive so I don't use them much.

Bewber -

Awesome profile!

How are you making the individual "sections" for your BG images? Like the "Mechanical" box, the "Carrier Ops" box, the "Engines and Fuel" box, etc. I assume it's some kind of emboss technique.

I'm using Photoshop CS, but I'm sure I have the same sort of tool you have in FW.

Thanks!

Hi JRH,

Yeah, what you do is draw a one pixel line, then apply an outer-bevel to it, offset by 1 or 2 pixels. IIRC you might have to do a combination of those effects to get the boxes quite how you want them.

Glad you like the profile...it took some time to create the gfx...cos I'm a fussy bugger...the hardest gfx were the auto-pilot lights ('on' effect) and the bomb interval and rippler gauges (bloody switch thing and rotating it around the arc).

Hope this helps.
