Default maybe makin the switch!

Hey guys,Been thinking of getting Lockon for awhile, as I understand it, I am gonna need LOMAC v1.0,,,FLAMING CLIFFS v1.1 AND PATCH 1.12.
or LOCKON GOLD and patch 1.12
However I have heard that disc 2 in GOLD had some probs, Is that issue old enough to be a nonissue now, any suggestions as to where to buy, and what about starforce as in, what is it , do I need it?
Ohh, another question. Do all the flyables have diff cockpits?
I know, I know...I should be postin this in the lockon forum...just thought I'd get a little heads up from my buds here before I went there n prooved my ignorance
Appreciate any help, tips or advice gang....thanks

Your best bet is to speak to the manager in any store you buy it and tell them about the 2cd disc problem and ask about returns. I bought a copy of Gold a while back from Circuit City (online) and it had no probs with the discs. I also bought a copy a few months ago at Fry's Electronics and it worked fine too. With all that being said, I have the d/l version and haven't had any problems with it. When you run out of activation keys you request another one but some people are waiting several weeks before that happens. I got mine in 3 days.

It's copy protection and you'll hear all kinds of stories about it breaking everything from optical drives to getting the neighbor's cat pregnant. I don't know one person who's had problems with it. It comes with Flaming Cliffs so there's no option on whether you want it or not.

Yes they do.

Fry's will let you return it if the disc is bad. Talk to a manager first, I got his name and he told me they'd refund if the disc was bad.

Ah, Frys... loved that place when I was over there. If we had a Frys in the UK, i`d live in the shop

Actually if you get the Downloaded version of flaming cliffs it will install a modified version of Star Force, kinda like a Star Force lite. you will have to do a online verification check, but it will then install a no cd patch. also they have a regestry setting saver available that lets you reinstall with no problem.

I've heard of Frys several times but have never seen one. There is not one in Cincinnati. The closest is in Indianapolis, which is 2 hrs away. Is Frys better than BestBuy?

I`ve been to both... maybe the BestBuy I went to was cr_p, but I could have spent the entire day in Frys in Burbank
