still havent lashed out on a touchscreen or 3 for the tbpit.
considering my options to either go for one large film overlay across the th2go or 3 seperate 19" overlays like the 17" ones you have ruggbutt. i found a supplier called keytec KEYTEC add-on magic touch screen for 19-21"CRT and 20" LCD monitors. so thats what i am looking at unless i find a better alternative. was throwing around some ideas with my mate sniffles, and he suggested controlling the mouse cursor on the non-touch screens with the input from the trackir, and using a mapped button on the hotas to act as the mouse click function, so that when you look at the TB profile the mouse cursor moves around under the control of the trackir, a virtual touch/trackir pit, just a thought i felt worthy of asking about? ps: sniffles also says if your hotas has suction cups its just a joystick, hehe he's a character... ![]() |

I'm not sure what your question is?
But with my TrackIR4, I have to run a separate TrackIR app called TIRMouse.exe to get the TrackIR to work in Mouse Mode. Never tried using the TrackIR in both TrackIR Mode and at the same time Mouse Mode.

You better have a really steady head and a lot of patience to try to use the mouse mode like that. Track ir is good but not that good for the kind of pointing I think you are trying to do...like eye tracking it sounds like.
Keytec was cool when I talked to them and I believe they will make cutom overlay sizes or you could go with the infrared one that you can make your own border size. How would you account for the bezel on your lcd if you did make a single screen area? Maybe keytec could rigg up a triple touch to go like matrox does for the screens with their software or might have to be hardware box of some sort to use 3 magic touch screen overlays. |

thanks for replies everyone,
as for clicking the pit with the mouse, thats just an idea we were thowing around and i too felt the accuracy of it might be wishful thinking. i had looked at the infrared border scalable version, great idea, although i shudder at the thought of its cost. i am hoping that three of those 19-21" overlays will work across the th2go, but its a bit of a gamble until i get to try at least 2 of them together. in the money this week so i am looking at purchasing a single unit overlay to give that a go. i know rugg has got two going but they are for seperate screens, i don't know how the touch drivers would handle 3 overlays across the th2go? |

How are you going to place hotspots to touch when the screen changes views? The buttons (or hotspots) are static and you'd have no idea where they were even if you changed your POV even a little bit. Not to mention the fingerprints that invariably end up on the overlays. I've found that there's no loss of immersion by having to look down at my touchscreens to use them. It feels natural.
