WBK,
I finally got around to setting up a pristine fs9 and fsx installation, which is pretty much a "bare bone" system, with no add-ons to either fs9 or fsx. I was still not able to initiate some of the slew commands, particularly the ones requiring the number pad keys, for example, NUMPAD7. See my other thread in this forum that refers to "Elevator Trim." So here is what I would like to propose: 1) I will obtain and mail you a copy of FS 2004 (fs9) so you can set up on your system to see if you can resolve this issue. At least rule out my making a mistake. Or, if you like, send you a check so you could purchase a copy of fs9. 2) If you obtain the same failure results I have, my hope would be that you could find a workaround for it. 3) In this case, I'm gonna go out on a limb to see if the original developer of this software could find a fix. My "Big" assumption is that you still maintain contact with him. Let me know what your thoughts are on this? I think the there are a lot of FS9 and FSX users out there who could really benefit from TB software. Regards, Bill |

I do have a copy of FS9, but have not installed it for over a year. Also, I do not keep in contact with Zorlac, and AFAIK he is out of the picture.
I think your best bet would be to PM some users who have posted here who do fly FS9. Or post in a FS9 forum to see if anybody does use TB and see if hey are willing to test with you. It's been a while, and I remember your posting about your problems a while back but don't remember the details. If you have exausted your other options I have suggested above and cannot find anybody else to test this with you I will consider re-installing FS9. But even though I did not do any personal testing with this, I remember that in the previous thread that I did not see how this could be a TB bug, so I assumed either user error or some other system error or program was causing a problem. But if you have installed FS9 on a virgin XP system and still cannot get it to work correctly then that is certainly weird. Let me know about the other options you have taken and I will consider re-installing FS9 and being your tester and debugger. ![]() WBK

I've pretty well exhausted all my resources as I have installed on two different pristine PC's, for example: 1) I PM'ed (as you suggested) all the members whoever made an entry into the Microsoft Flight TB Forum on this site, but never received a response back from any of them. 2) I have also posted questions on other forums, but I came up with no responses The unfortunate thing is, in my opinion, is that TB is an ideal solution for all Microsoft Flight Simulators. There are many commands, like Slew, for example, that are ideal to be put onto a TouchBuddy tab. I'm very surprised MS FS users haven't adopted this really neat tool. I would appreciate it if you could take the time, and I have to say you are probably very busy like most of us, to re-install the sim on your PC to either confirm this issue, or suggest a workaround, or suggest I just give up on this altogether. I'm very happy that it works well with Falcon 4.0 AF and IL-2. I'm not sure what your ultimate goal is with the TouchBuddy SW and this forum, but I would like to promote it further, unless you want me to keep it's use more restricted to the "hard core" believers like myself! I'm amazed, and very thankful, that you have keep this tool "alive." I'm also surprised that you, or the creater, have never been approached by a commercial venture to take this product to market? Regards, Bill |

Well since Zorlac has left the 'scene' for good, the ultimate goal of TB is to stay the way it is I guess. If somebody did approach us about going commercial maybe he would come back to it, but maybe not.... I have no clue.
And no, we don't want TB restricted to only hard core believers by any means. Anybody can use it and promote it and that is appreciated. So continue doing what your doing if you like. Since I have lost touch with your problems with FS9 and TB, let's start a new thread. You go and start a new thread and state the problem and post links to the profile I need to download. And I will try to re-install FS9 in the next few days. I'll read over the issues and try to test it out and see what happens. WBK

The basic problem I have been having is with any command that uses NumPad keys. For example, slew commands like "bank left/right, or rotate left/right, or Move Forward/Backward, or Move Right/Left" just don't work. There may be other examples, but it has been a while since I dug into this. Attached is a zip file of my profile and folders. Just go to the tab that has the Slew commands, and experiment to see what happens. BTW, you have to enable slew mode first, and there is a TB button associated with this function. I hope you get lucky and find that the issue is either someting I'm doing wrong, or that in the specific case of NumPad keys with FS9 or FSX, you have to do something special, whatever that might be. Please let me know if you need anything else. I really do appreciate you taking the time to look into this. Best Regards, Bill |
