Hello all,
I just wanted to jot down my outline for a complete touchbuddy profile for FS9. FS can be kind of boring if all you do is take off , fly around land, but if you learn to fly using fs it can be pretty fun! Some of the cool elements to FS are the weather(affects flying) ATC, VOR IFL, autopilot,in flight failures. I'll admit Im still learning most of the basics at this point. Setting up TB to work with flight simulator, for me, is gonna include multiple TB profiles on different computers networked to the client. Some of the individual glass cockpit instruments come with individual keystrokes outside of FS, for instance you can switch your nav display to different modes in flight. A list of profiles I'm gonna build are as follows: 1. General aviation- a. FS controls 2. Nav Display a. Controls specific to freeFD on that particular computer 3.EADI a. Controls specific to freeFD on that particular computer 4.Failure/Environment control Control a. A cool feature of FS is you can inject failures I was looking for a way to achieve this on an outside computer so failures could be injected without warning. My laptop running TB networked wireless to the FS PC should do this. Also I'm pretty sure there is a plug in to be able to change weather situations on the fly(sudden unexpected crosswinds during a landing). Still a long way to go but I think this is the perfect match for my pit. Hopefully Ill be able to get most of these functions to work! |

If you are running the TB profile with the glass cockpit buttons on the same pc as the Glass Cockpit, you will probably need to run that instance of TB in local mode even though it is not on your game pc. I know this is probably getting ahead of things, but just thought I'd give you some ideas and things to think about.... I don't know of anybody who has used the SendTo values this way yet, or has run a separate profile in local mode on a client pc just for another app that is getting info from a game on server pc. Seems like it should be doable though....

Nice thanks for the info, when I do get to that point Ill research a bit further. Its good to know that option is out there. Its one of those things, I need to have my hands on before It makes complete sense.
I noticed not to many FS'ers here which is a bit of a surprise, hopefully this setup brings more here. P.S. Thanks for all the input Wild.Bill |

Hey Radar. Is your username also Radar on MyCockpit.org? I think I found your images. Looks like you're just getting started. But it's looking good so far....

Yup! Thanks Wild Bill. Thats me 737NG. I think this wonderful program is going to help me greatly. A FMC is about $1000.00 cdn. If I can make some bottons that look like the FMC keyboard, I'm in for this program and a tough screen. I will definitly make a donation for this great tool. THKS Mike |

I dont think an FMC is out of reach with this program. Just need to set a transparency on the tab. The resolution will have to be pretty high & the monitor flipped 90 deg. A good amount of buttons will need to fit in there. I would suggest getting a resistive touch panel(better resolution for those smaller buttons). I'm sure you did the research, just trying to be helpful!
Looks awesome! I can't wait to start building the pit! But i have to finish a remodel on a bedroom first! I'm a long way from an MFC still working out the basics! |

Thanks Mastermind. I will maybe go with a tough screen filter that you can be add to any CTR<LCD monitor. They have filters for 5'' to 50''so i'll have lots of options for fit into my FMC box. |
