Just got a ramline 510 touchscreen computer from ebay. Loaded Xp onto the tablet pc and been beta testing with touchbuddy. Works flawless, even on this old PIII 500mhz pc. Right now Im running 4 PC's 1. FS9 2.Primary Flight Display 3. PM sounds/ Nav display/standby 4.touch-buddy
Im gonna implement 2 more computers for a moving map and engine info. I was worried with all this network traffic there would be some issues but so far so good! To chart my progress on my homebuilt cockpit I started a website, content is light at the moment but touch buddy will be included. Here: Homebuilt Cockpit Resources Some screens of my new profile coming soon! |

Looking very good Masternerd! But on your site, I tried to click on all of the 'links' that say 'Click Here', but they were not links. Clicking did nothing. So, I couldn't see your pics! Darn!!
Is your tablet pc running Windows CE? Do they all need to run that? I don't know anything about these. I was talking with aXr a few days ago about something like this tablet pc. A way to network TB without buying a whole second system. Is Tablet PC the way to go for this, or are there also some other options? I'm also concerned that you have to buy a second copy of XP which is a little costly for a first timer. But it is sure a great solution to have networked solutions for TB so that it works with all games and saves resources.

Of course these ramlines are used, they were for point of sale at Home Cheapo, I have three and they have been working great. The big surprise was how bright and clear the screens were. One has some slight burn in but not major at all. Gonna use one in my work van for a GPS To use touch-buddy you will need another PCMCIA network card(15 bucks) or USB. Personally I prefer the PCMCIA, its usb 1.0 which can be a problem sometimes. It runs flawless so far and no real issue with latency from touchbuddy to FS9. <<UPDATE>> Sorry wild bill got a ways to go before I have all my content up on the site, not enough hours in a day. |

Yes, that's a great way to go for multiple touchscreens.
I have been on the look for a nice 12-14" tablet pc with XP on it for quite a while now. Got a 17" for a great price and replaced my 8" to start with. Tablet pc's are still a bit rare and still a bit expensive, but it's my next toy for sure ![]()
