I am just wondering. Is development still ongoing for TOUCHBUDDY or is
everybody happy with the existing version? I am happy I am just curious if there will be new features.

There is no future development plans for TB at the moment. I may be fixing some bugs in the Toolkit and releasing a new version at some point though...

I don't have a new setup program yet, but here is the new toolkit.exe you can try. I did make that fix for you. Last time I fixed the resizing of the Toolkit window, which I think I did have a limit to that for some stupid reason. But when I re-read your request a few weeks ago, I realized that you mean the TB profile's window area size, not my toolkit program's size. And I did find a bug that limited that size that I fixed. So, please give this a try and report back on how it works for you. This is a BETA, so any feedback on any other errors would be helpful... .zip file attached... WBK EDIT: PS: Just rename your .exe to something for a backup. Then copy this new .exe in it's place in the Programs Files Toolkit folder...

the new toolkit.exe worked a treat and allowed me to make a full size profile
of 3840x1024, where before it would not allow me to enter 3840, so excellent work there. i increased the profiles window size gradually and the background appeared as you would expect, so far so good all the way out to the full 3840x1024. ![]() getting this sorted has created another issue: ![]() the mesurement tapes in the top left hand corner of the profile skin showing the x and y coordinates stop around 20" along the horizontal and similarly around 8 for the vertical, i cannot see the far right and bottom areas of the profile skin, eg: just like editing a 19" profile on a 15" monitor. where the viewable area is far smaller than the skin of the profile. if possible a way to scroll around as you do a web page or in paint, in order to view the entire profile as the editor takes up some of the viewable area. another option might be like grabbing a PDF in acrobat and pulling the document around the page. hope my feedback helps, and sorry to create more work for you. Are the measuring tape and not being able to see the far right/bottom of the profile related problems? It sounded like you were describing one problem, but I don't see how the measuring tape could be related to that. A screenshot would be helpful maybe...

again my poor descriptions create confussion.
sorry the two issues were seperate but i felt they may have been somewhat related. i have now included 3 attachments, for the following examples the tbtk with new exe was maximised on my desktop @ 3840x1024 1. the first is with a profile window size of 1280x720, you can see the red background indicating the new area (as the original skin size was 800x600) and if you look carefully you can see where the horizontal measuring tape ends around mid image. 2. the second is a full size profile window of 3840x1024 and as you can see the red area goes all the way over to the right and well below hiding a substantial amount of the profiles window area/ skin size. this is where i was thinking of the scroll around option or the pdf style dragging. 3. this is my attempt at a close up of the measuring tape stopping @ 20 in the horizontal. sorry for the image sizes, i think TB scaled the down when i uploaded them, they were about twice the size. hope this gives a slightly clearer picture, albeit small, cheers WBK, appreciate your efforts, GGG. The images helped a lot. It was as I thought, separate issues.
I have had a request in from one user for a long time to add scrollbars to the profile work area. He has a small monitor, and I told him to just use a higher resolution, but for some reason he could not do that. So, his problem was that his monitor/res was too small. Now, you have a huge desktop and also want these scrollbars! Hmmm.. I would have never guessed that would be an issue for you too. I will consider adding that feature for you two. But I am not sure when I will get back to coding the Toolkit. It again may be a while... WBK

thanks WBK,
i am thinking it only becomes an issue when you want a profile the same size as the desktop your are using the toolkit to edit it on. i am in no hurry, and too bad if i am. scroll bars would be great eventually. code it when you get time or when your heart desires, no demands here. just pushy requests ![]() but as a little encouragement: once again i have to say, fantastic programs, both TB and the TBTK. |
