Bit of a digression, but am I the only one who finds it very weird that the Airbus cockpit design forces the majority of their pilots (who are presumably right handed) to use the joystick with their left hand? Or does the pilot get to choose which seat he flies from?

I suppose the pilot can sit wherever he wants. But the Hud is on the left side. Maybe it can be moved or another added to the right side? I'm sure he can get used to the left side. But doesn't the Airbus pretty much fly itself? Of is that another aircraft?
