Default new to TB

Hi

just wanted to say hello and congratulate you for a great idea.
I came back to sim flying after a long time and I realize how much the experience can improve with things like TB.

I have two particular questions:

@WBK: At this moment I just fly IL2 1946 and am impressed with your TB profile. I was surprised though that you didn't include the trim functions in it. You do have the center to neutral functions but not the pitch up/down, roll left/... you get the picture. Is it that you have them mapped to your joystick? If one (I would never have the skills, but maybe yourself in a 3.0 version?) were to add them to your profile, do you think it can be done like wheels, instead of buttons?

@everybody: Has someone tried TB in a Lilliput FA-1042 TS? ____LILLIPUT_______________ I think it's appealling because of the size and the price doesn't seem too high.

Thanks,

Aleck

Welcome to the Forums Aleck!

Yes, I do have my trim mapped to 2 rotaries on my X52. Also, I really didn't have room for them on the Flight tab. The combination of both of those made it an easy choice not to include them.

I do have a new version of the profile I have been working on since I began flying online. But I don't plan on adding the trim buttons. Actually, you are the first to ask for them since I released the profile.

You are welcome to add them to the profile yourself and for your own use using a graphics program and the TB Toolkit.

Also, if I were to buy a new touchscreen that one you posted may be the one I would look into... I would want a 10" with a native res of 800x600. What price are you seeing for it? I paid about $165 for my 8" Innovatek TMT-868 shipped on eBay, and that was a pretty good deal. It has a native res of only 640x480 which is a little small, and I wouldn't mind it to be a little bigger. It's handy for other things besides TouchBuddy, and more useful if it were a little larger. Right now I am tracking weather radar as a storm moves though on it.

WBK

Hi WBK
I followed your way and mapped the trims to the rotaries of the Cougar.
I will be waiting for your new IL2 profile!!
I paid $210 fot that TS. I was waiting for a good deal in ebay (someone bought one for $128), but lost my patience and just bought it.
I will let you know as soon as I load and try TB on it,

Aleck

Your deal sounds pretty good after I looked at those prices. But that $128 deal was a steal for a 10" like that!!

just wanted to update you on the Lilliput FA1042. It works great with TB, your IL2 profile looks gorgeous in it and has given me no problems.
thanks again for a great program, waiting for your next IL2 profile!

Glad to hear back from you Aleck. I've just been lazy... My updated profile is probably ready to go. I have about 4 versions of it and only use one, so the others have just not been tested much.
