FSX profile

Hey,

Was wondering, any chance if there will be an FSX profile coming out?
I am considering buying a touchscreen and use TB with FSX, since the Aerosoft F-16 Fighting Falcon is out the sim is getting better and better.

I don't have FSX and nobody has submitted a profile for it yet. But check out this thread and PM Bill Clark about his profile if you want...

Set up and tried pristine FS9 and FSX system

Maybe i am gonne make an FSX profile myself if it's not that hard to realise.

Hi, Emmer and welcome!

I had started developing an FSX profile a long ways back but never got very far. Unfortunately, I lost much of that work in a computer crash early this year.

I would be willing to help with a group effort to build up a profile for FSX. It presents a bit of a challenge for several reasons but the primary ones are that MS didn't really put any effort into developing "easy" hooks into the program, there are many, many internal functions that can be controlled, and FSX is still relatively "new" meaning it was slow to be adopted by the development folks (mainly due to the SDK and some backward compatibility issues) so there were not many examples to build a TB profile upon.

There is now more available and maybe a cooperative group of 3 to 5 people could split the work and collaborate on working through problems. I'm not sure if Bill is still around but I know he had a lot of interest. Let's see if anything develops in the way of interested people and we can go from there, maybe.

I remember installing FSX a long time back, and TB didnt work in local mode because FSX took over and blanked the second screen (TB was still running, but with the second screen blanked, you couldnt actually see it)

Does FSX still do this?

There is a sticky in the Microsoft Flight Sim forum on here which details the small change required.


i.e. :-

Change the line on_top = 0 to on_top = 1 in the FSX profile and it should now work in full screen local mode
