Hi, Hello, Good Morning - Good Day and Greetings from Germany,
first of all – you may excuse my English. I'm not used to write in English – a letter in a couple of years.... So please – read very carefully, I shall write this only once! :-) You may allow me to introduce myself a little bit: My nick here is “Abu Mabuk”. Abu Makub (meening “Father of the Storks”) is a honorific title from the local inhabitants and his buddies in North Africa, during the Desert conflict between Tom and Jerry, for a German pilot: Hauptmann (Captain) Heinz Kroseberg who flew a “Fieseler Fi 156” - called “Fieseler Stork”. He flew over the desert and over the Mediterranean Sea in “Search and Rescue missions” saving the lives of many pilots from both sides. On May, 12th 1942 he was seen over the Mediterranean in such a Mission, throwing a life jacket (Mea West) to a crashed Pilot. After that he disappeared, never to be seen again. I admire human beings like him, risking their lives to save others – regardless who they are, where they are from and what colour their uniform. So much about my nick. I'm a member of the German “IL2 Sturmovik” forum (with another nick). Maybe the most visited around the German speaking community and even sometimes English speaking guests. ;-) Everybody around the world is very warmly welcome! So - a few weeks ago, a colleague member at the same forum like myself, wrote something about a “Touchbuddy”. I became curios and followed his link only to find your very nice and interesting forum and community! To be honest I was somehow surprised that I never heard nor read anything about Touchbuddy! Shame on me! ;-) But I started to read nearly every single character, downloaded your software: “Touchbuddy 1.3.0”, “Touchbuddy Toolkit 1.3.4.” and your profile: “WBK'S IL2 Series profile 2.1” without even asking: “I'm very sorry! May I?” :-) And just a few days ago I received my 10” Touchscreen. So, installing the software and your profile was a matter of minutes or even seconds. :-) And after a few minor problems everything works perfectly! I have to admit that I had a few problems but they are solved. We have a Wiki, called “SturmoWiki” where I wrote a little "howto" in German and I made a link to your Videos without your permission for which I'm asking you now! ![]() Oh yes, before I forget – in our forum, somewhere, you can find a “Template” made by a colleague, called “Dr. Jones” a few years ago for PCDash2 from Saitek. It is very nice done and very easy to understand. Perhaps you can write him and ask him for his permission to use it or to get even more from him. I'm not an artist like him or one at all - but I'm sure there is at least one here who can maybe, mh "update" his icons a bit. You know what I meen? Like on/off - red/green and so on.... So, right now I'm finished! :-) and need a coffee... :-) Wish you all good luck, keep the good work going and Godspeed! Abu Makub ![]() Last edited by Abu Makub; 01-16-2009 at 02:49 PM. |
