hello...
im trying out other profiles... im just wondering if Brewber's Su-25T lomac profile is capable of running over the network?? i.e. client/server mode... i like to see that TEWS and RADAR to work.... if so, what is it that i have to configure in the server and client touchbuddy.cfg?? THANKS A MILLION...i am re-discovering Lock On Flaming Cliffs Last edited by hannibal; 03-10-2009 at 11:35 AM. |

What does its documentation say ?? TB does run over networks, so I guess you need to see if Lomack does that as well. Try also to read the files in in your ..\touchbuddy\lua folder

Hi, Hannibal. I didn't answer earlier because I have never explicitly set up the plug in for the TEWS in the F15 (which works on the same principal).
In short, Brewber's profile for the Frog should work just fine in Client-Server mode (the flight sim running on one computer and TB running on another, both networked together). This is different from seeing sim feedback from the sim into TB (like the TEWS or the KA-50 ABRIS). To set up client server mode, you first need to make sure the network is properly configured and that both computers are talking to each other. You will need to know the network addresses of each computer. This will be something like 192.168.1.xxx where xxx will be a number in the range 000 to 254. The address(es) could vary from this. It depends on how your network is set up. Usually, your router will occupy address 192.168.1.1 and each entity on your network will have an address assigned to identify it. For example, my system has my main computer as 192.168.1.64 and my client as 192.168.1.66. I have several other computers in my network and printers connected via Ethernet will also have a similar address. You can see these addresses by opening the router in your browser...just type http://192.168.1.1 into the url address box and press enter. You may need to supply a log-in and password to get into the router. Next, make sure your touch screen software is running correctly on the client. Best test is to load a profile in TB local mode and then watch to see if you are sending keystrokes to an application...you can use Notepad or something similar. You will have to modify the TB config files in both your client and server to show the address of the other (the client points to the server and the server points to the client). Use a text editor like Notepad or Notepad ++ to open the file \Touchbuddy\touchbuddy-local.cfg (in the folder where you have the TB executable files) and look in the sections headed #Server Stuff and #Client Stuff. The line allowed_ip= should point to your client address and the line connect_ip= should point to the server address. Make sure port 12000 is not blocked if you run a firewall. To set up the client server, before starting your sim, run TB on the server and select Server Mode with the profile you want to run and execute TB. Then, run TB on the client with Client Mode selected and the same profile loaded. When you execute TB you should see the profile window displayed on your client's primary screen. You will see nothing on the server's screen since the TB window will minimize. You are then ready to run the sim and begin enjoying the immersion .Running the data import from Lock-on or DCS is a bit more complex in that there are a couple of lua files that need to be changed in your Lomac or KA50 folders. If you take a look at Dastardly's DCS profile package you can see how he has modified the files to set it up. The process will be similar for using the SU-25T profile except that you won't have to modify the monitor setup files. If you run into difficulties, please ask and someone here will help you through it, As I said, I've not set that up but I think there is enough in the examples here to get you through. If not, we'll try it together .I hope this helps some, Hannibal. It is actually easier to do than to type it out (I hope). Good luck...the payoff will be worth the work, I think.
