Hello all,
My first post, but received this hyperlink from the folks designing a new product call Sim Touch. The hyperlink is here for a demo of the product: Created by Camtasia Studio 6 It's initial release is FSX only, with a built in GPS for your personal vehicle. It's a 4.5 inch screen and has multiple tabbed menu pages for the various other aspects of FSX such as radio, navigation, overhead panel, engines, throttle and assorted other panels. I believe they are releasing it for about 350.00 euros , which is a bit more then I wanted to spend, so was hoping someone has already created or working on a similar design with Touch Buddy. Thanks Matt |

Stryker,
I am new at touch buddy but I believe this can be done. I only watched the first seven minutes then I feel asleep. I might have missed something unique such as the GPS function. 350 euros which is approxiametly 510 USD today? I dont think I will buy it. Did I not previously read that someone was working on an FSX profile here? Just checked the profiles and only see one for FS9. I am sure other people have done a profile. What I will need to know is how to get the items such as radio frequencies to show up in touchbuddy? Anyway, its an interesting find but to expensive for me. Jake |

Look through the MS Flight Sim forum here and you'll find some posts and people also interested in this.

Bill,
As always, thanks for coming to the rescue, however, there haven't been any updates on that link since 2008. Not that it's a bad sign, but doesn't appear to have an FSX dedicated profile, just a re-wired FS9 one or did I misread the postings? Thanks Bill. Matt |

I just posted it because it is all the info we have. And you can find out who is using TB with FSX. You can PM someone who posted and see what they have created if you like. That's what I would do if I was really into FSX. Member, Bill Clark, was really working hard on a FSX profile a long time ago, so I would PM him here or other FSX sites and see if he can help.

Stryker, Since my post I have ran into a couple of people who have developed FSX profiles. Why they do not post it hear I do not know. Most say they started with the FS9 profile and developed it from there. I will be customizing one for me. May take me a while but have big plans.....lol.

Ugo,
I talked with someone who is running his own profile on his system. Basically he does not post his profile becuse its system specific to his setup. It controls more than FSX. Actually he uses it more to control his other computers than the sim itself. I have started building my profile. My first one will be for basic GA flying but I can see as I get more specific to an aircraft then it may not be one that would be easily shared. Which brings me to a question. Looking through some of the profiles I see images of switches that I would like to use. Would it be taboo for me to use them, should I ask the developer of the profile for permission, or is it considered to be alright to use images from other profiles? Jake |

Nobody has complained if you use their buttons and give them some credit in your readme or comments in your profile. So, that should be just fine. WBK

Any progress on an FSX profile yet? I noticed that Simtouch has dropped their price significantly to 65 Euros for the software only, but still a bit high just for software. Thanks Matt Jake, |
