Default Question for wildbill on maps

Hello Bill i was wondering how i can check out the maps that come with 1.0.0. I have a 868 8" so i thought i would ask you, if anyone else know please respond thanks. Do i need to download the toolkit? Also what resolution should i have my TM 868 set to? What mode should i run the touchbuddy on local, client/server? What are the differences, thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Only if you are planning on creating your own profile... sounds like that might be a while, so I wouldnt grab TBTk until you have TouchBuddy itself running

local (if you only have one PC)
local or client/server (if you have more than one PC)

Not much to be honest.

local runs locally on the same machine as your game.

client/server runs a copy of TB in server mode on your game machines, and another copy of TB running in client mode on the second PC.

Both do the same thing, bot local mode can sometimes upset/affect any game that is using the mouse movement to do something (looking around the cockpit or whatever)

the maps are included on a tab in the lomac-zorlac.tbc profile.

Oops! Zorlac beat me to it

I can maybe help a little here.
Do i need to download the toolkit?
Well, the toolkit will allow you to easily change existing profiles that you downloaded here. You can, for example, add an active-x plugin tab to display the html maps that come with TB 1.0.1

Also what resolution should i have my TM 868 set to?
I think the 868 has 800 x 600 as a native resolution so that is the best setting. You will probably have to scroll to see all the maps but that's not a huge problem.

What mode should i run the touchbuddy on local, client/server? What are the differences?
Well, if you are using only one computer, then run in local mode...both Lock On and TB will run on the same system.

Using client/server mode means that you have more than one computer networked together. You run TB (in server mode) on the same system on which you are running Lock On--you don't select a profile in server mode. You run TB on another system using client mode and select the profile you want to use there. TB will send the pushes (keystrokes) from the client back to the server and thus to Lockon.
I hope that made some sense. It can be difficult initially setting things up if you aren't familiar with networking...but that's what questions are for

(868 has native res of 640x480, but lets not confuse blackpulpit with profile scaling just yet )

Until you are more confident with TB, stay at 800x600 for now.

There is an option called profile scaling that will resize a profile (window size, button postions and sizes, etc) to fit on the native size of your screen, but lets leave that for a while shall we?
