Default Help! image is flattened???

First of all, it is my turn to thank you guys for this wonderful addition to Lockon: Thank you warmly!

I am having a bit of a problem with the image in my touch screen???

I just purchased a recent Lilliput 8' touchscreen (from Honk Kong).
The exact model is : 889GL-80NP/C/T.
I am running Lockon on a medium system (P4 2.4 Gherz, 1.5 Mo of RAM, ATI X800XT 256 M video card and good peripherals. My main monitor is a beautiful Viewsonic pro 21' flat.

I run my main display (as well as Lockon) at 1600x1200 and I did put my new touchscreen in 800x600, extended desktop.

My problem is that when I fire up TouchBuddy, the profile looks great on my normal monitor, but the minute I drag it to my touchscreen it shrinks vertically making everything look fatter and deformed...

I have the feeling that the proportions are not right? (main display is 16 inches by 12 inches and lilliput is 7 inches by 4 inches).

What can I do to make those nice buttons look normal?

thanks in advance

I believe the model you mention is a wide screen model, with a native resolution of 800x480 (not 800*600).

http://www.made-in-china.com/showroo...80NP-C-T-.html

This is probably the reason why every looks a bit squashed. Try setting the screen to 800x480 instead.

If it is a wide screen model, its probably time to look at the "profile_scaling" options in the touchbuddy.cfg file.

Thanks Zorlac

quick answer!!!
It is indeed my model (when I bought it from an electronic company in Hong Kong on ebay, they said 8' but nothing about wide screen...).

I will give it a try later today (at work right now).
I am not sure my control panel has the 800x480 resolution possibility?

What do you mean by :

???

many thanks

in the touchbuddy.cfg file, near the bottom, is the section that deals with the options for profile scaling:

Quote:

#=====================

# enable/disable profile scaling.
# This enables TouchBuddy to scale all the buttons, images and
# screen positions at initial load time, so that they fit on a
# screen of any size (within reason!). If you enable this option,
# set the native size of your screen below in "screen_resolution".
# NOTE: The scaling only happens once, when you load the profile.
# It will not scale the profile if you resize the window with
# after you have loaded the profile.
profile_scaling = 0

# set the *NATIVE* screen resolution of your screen here
# (Width, Height)
screen_resolution = 640,480

# Tells TouchBuddy to not "squash" the profiles if you have
# profile_scaling enabled
preserve_aspect_ratio = 1

#=====================

Here are some screenshots of it being used on an existing profile for 800x600

Original

scaled to fit 640x480 screen

scaled to fit 320x240 screen (extreme example!)

For those who may get a wide screen TFT, this one is 800x480

See how the profile is being squashed to fit into the widescreen format? Well, if you enable the "preserve_aspect_ratio" option in the touchbuddy.cfg file, TB will not squash the profile... it will resize and its keeps all the buttons the same aspect, but resizes it so there may be some "space" on the right hand side of the window:

in your case you would need to set:

Quote:
screen_resolution = 800,480
and then see if you like the profile scaling option or not.
