Hi guys my name is Ricky and stumbled upon your site after browsing around the LOMAC site. This concept of the touch screen has got me interested and would further enhance my gaming experience. I will take this time to view and understand better what your all up too and for me to better understand just how it all woks and how I can apply it too my needs.
Once again I thank you all for your efforts to bring to us something that is just out right awesome. I only wish I knew about this from the beginning because I have allot of catching up to do in reading and understanding it all. I'm not really a tech head or understand PC's well but I get by. Just looking around the site many of you have some nice setups and allot of knowledge so expect a few dumb questions fire your way once I get going and need the help. ![]() |

Dont worry, thats what we are here for. There is a lot to take in, a lot to learn, but you will pick it up quickly. So, just ask, and we will try to answer your questions.

Just a suggestion here, but you might want to download the TB software and run it on your regular screen for a lookee-see. Of course it's not gonna be a touchscreen setup, but it did give me a good look and further incentive to get a touchscreen. Welcome!

Thanks guys and Vegas that's a great tip I will get too it because playing with something helps to when you finally get the screen and take the plunge.
Zorlac I have viewed much of your work and your in game movie files and you have really simplified the ability to use functions within a game. I had been researching and planning to get the Ergodex but by the time you kit yourself out with the Ergodex it's almost the same cost as a touch screen with limited power. Talk about a stoke of luck finding this before I laid out money on that system. Gonna take me ages to read all about this and what you and the team have achieved but I appreciate it. ![]() |

Second point while reading this forum I noticed a thread about TB not working in SLI so does this still hold true today? Turning off SLI isn't something I want to do just to use a touch screen. Also I have to say your buttons you designed for the community and your photochop work is awesome for it's a pleasure to see such dedication in your work along with all the others. ![]() |

If you are going to be running in "local" mode (i.e touchscreen attached directly to the gaming PC), then it just wont work in SLI mode (you need one of the video ports for your touchscreen!). You *MIGHT* be able to get a cheap PCI video card to connect the touchscreen, but this hasnt been tested with SLI systems.
If you are going to attach the touchscreen to a seperate machine, and run in client/server mode (ik.e send the TouchBuddy coomands across the network to the gaming PC), then that will work just fine

I haven't read this but I now assume with the information you provided that hooking up duel monitors will not work with SLI or a touch screen and duel monitors are two different kettle of fish in there setup? |

SLI requires two video cards to operate, so if you only have two cards, then you cannot use SLI and plug a touchscreen in to one of the two cards at the same time. If you need SLI, you need another card from somewhere (i did see a USB to VGA adapter somewhere... not high quality, and I have no idea if it would work well)

Now to further understand you and this is now how I read it so forgive me if I'm wrong or seem a little on the slow side If I was to get a cheap PCI graphics card add that too my Rig leaving my SLI in tack your unsure if it would work due to it not being tested?I know this thread has now turned into a support topic so please if you feel the need to shift it to the right forum section please do so. I do have a spare PCI slot but it's covered by a graphics card but I know you can get a ribbon extension so I might be able to relocate that cheap PCI card. However in doing all that your unsure if I'm still able to use a touch screen because of the SLI set-up? I have a spare Rig sitting there but it needs to have money thrown at it for it too work. So to do that and purchase a touch screen is allot of added $$$ I wasn't prepared to do........ |
