Don't have one, but let us know how you like it.

I had a cheap sub-woofer for my pc a few years ago. It was made our of a big/cheap plastic case with a big speaker in it. I would wrap my feet around it and turn up the bass when flying and the vibrations shook all through my legs. It was very immersive. But then I decided to get better speakers and these are now solid and don't vibrate much at all. Should have stuck with the cheap ones.

Ok I will let you know, I will probably get it before the 20 rebate runs out... do you guys fly online at all? Where can I meet up with you all? Do you fly ubi.com or hyperlink or dedicated servers?

Man I am installing IL2 1946 (which by the way was the best way to go thanks above it has latest patches applied for full combined install) and I thought it would be a little easier compared to lock on since you dont have all the fancy electronics, etc and just after reading half the readme file my head is totally spinning.... controlling superchargers at certain alititudes and climbing and all sorts of stuff. please tell me you guys have some sites like flanker training and the other ones for lockon that are made like il-2 with training videos, etc?? i couldnt have done it without flanker training.... so any training sites?

I don't use the complex engine mangement, I turn it off in the Difficulty Settings. I don't know of a site that talks in depths about it. But here are all of my links for stuff. There is one with very good training videos.

I just dragged all of these out of my Favorites, so I don't know if they are still still available, but check each one out, and bookmark it if you find it useful.

WBK Out...

PS:
If you find a good site that explains how to use all the complex engine controls, please post it to me.

Il-2 isn't that difficult. The biggest problem is that there are about two hundred flyable planes in total and learning to fly them all is a bit of a task. Just pick up one and you should be good to go. How about for example a Spitfire? They're very good, simple planes and everyone wants to fly a Spit anyway.

If you don't mind having your butt kicked, you can also take a look at this: http://www.ivibe.com/

It's much more expensive and I haven't tried it out myself, but it looks sort of interesting.

Agreed, they aren't as hard to learn as Lockon. The Spit is a good one, and has some great user made campaigns.

My fav was the Battle over Britain.. or was it Battle of Britain - Hurricane Season? Can't remember at the moment, as I have both.

Wild bill thanks for all the sites! I am going to check them out. Funny thing is, the flankertraining site and the other site you gave me got me really good at lockon. I can fly the a-10 and f15 really well and can use pretty much all their features. I am still learning on the f15 but can do bvr air to air, etc. I love lock on its alot of fun. I run it at very high reality except I usually leave labels on, otherwise they are like little specks until they close even though I have a 21inch widescreen monitor...

IL2 is a whole different beast, I stall like crazy, spin like crazy well i was but now not as much cause i realized how to sense the stall coming on but the planes cant do what i see them do on wwii black and white footage of the war without them falling out of the sky. I just cant do much maneuvering even with the p51, the bf109 i have had the best luck with, much harder to lose control. Now my biggest problem is frigan shooting. I have read so much stuff on ubi.com forums aboiut shooting but just cant hit anything. I have full reality settings which is what they recommend you learn using so you get better but even when i am right behind a plane I just cant shoot it down! its driving me nuts, plus the graphics are amazing i am running perfect mode in opengl which runs great but sometimes it seems like things dont load like i will get close to a tank and then all of a sudden i realize it was on fire all along because the game finally loads the smoke on top of it. But the frame rate is so high and i dont think its cause the settings are to high. So I am having some issues but it seems like once i get it down it will be tons of fun especially having il2 all the way up to 1946 to go through... again, thank god i bought the dvd, it would have cost me $33 for just 1946 anyways

Edit: Here is what i found on complex engine management for you, I am not going to mess with it till down the road...

Ruggbutt, do you know why I wouldnt be able to get on lockon's forums or site using my definite correct username and password? A reset wont work either, i emailed them and they havent responded....

Also what were the mods for lock on you highly recommend? I dont want to mess anything up, just the best, most needed stuff.

I have no idea about the Lock On website Mike. As for mods, I'll have to get back to you. I have about 40 installed.
