Default Since it's so quiet...

...with Z away, I'll make some noise

I decided to upgrade my older simming equipment so there is an X52 Pro and rudder pedals arriving tomorrow. I will be putting my old X52, CH USB pedals, an XKeys Pro, and an FCC-modded Cougar up on eBay today or tomorrow.

The 15-inch Magic Touch overlay is working great but I can't get both the overlay and the 8-inch working together. I may sell the 8-inch screen and get a 17-inch overlay & just swap monitors around. The 15-inch screen area is really great and I am working on two simming profiles now (Lomac SU-25T and FSX). I have plans to do a profile for Photoshop Elements 4 which I use for digital photo processing.

I have too many irons in the fire ... I am in the middle of seceral games (CoH -- my first strategy game, Splinter Cell Double agent, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, Neverwinter Nights 2, and Oblivion) in addition to trying to fly Lomac (and master the 25T -- so far it's winning ), F4AF, and FSX. I am gonna make a schedule and finish one game at a time and concentrate on the 25T (and maybe FSX) .... sure I am!! I really am!

My other hobbies are photography and ham radio. I have a Sony Alpha with extra lenses and equipment and am looking to combine my hobbies when the weather improves. My ham call is NK2X and I fiddle on HF and VHF when I'm not simming (or gaming or photo-ing). Damn, I'm sure glad I retired!

I've been tuning up my TIR 3 PRo with vector, adjusting the positioning and profiles. I've now mounted the vector reflectors on top of my headset...looks a bit like My Favorite Martian but it works well. I've also been adjusting my X52 profiles and VAC profiles to take into consideration the TB functionality and that I use TIR and speech input (so don't need the radio commands or look-around commands). That means going back in and remapping several of the sims so free up extra key strokes for other things. Been working on FSX trying to get the keys aligned with the extra commands needed for the GPS and other functions...the goal is to eliminate the keyboard from all input in the flying sims.

The weather is cold here in NW New Jersey ... 3F this morning and not expected to get over 15F today. I am in need of Spring .

I have to pick up my son's car today...it was shipped from Germany when he rotated back to the states. He's in the Air Force (non-flying...he's in Military Intelligence which I keep telling him is an oxymoron). He is attending Fighter Weapons school at Nellis AFB (NV) and will be assigned to Eglin AFB, FL when he graduates in June. So today I get to drive a 2005 BMW M3 on the NJ highways...can't wait .

Ok...enough noise. How is everyone else handling the winter? And Z, hope SoCal is nice for you this time of year...haven't been there for many years but fondly remember the warm weather and the beautiful women on the beaches .

blaster, out

Fire up your software for the 8" touchscreen. Go to the Display tab and make sure you have the "Enable Multiple Monitors" box checked. You may have to click on one of monitor graphics at the top of that page then apply. Both screens should work now.

What are you asking for the XKeys pro? I'm looking for another one. Not sure if I can afford one just yet but thought I'd ask.

Hey Blaster!

Why are you selling your 'old' X52 and getting a new one? Did it break or something?

Wow Man! You are playing a lot of games. I just rebuilt my pc, and only have Lockon, IL2/PF, F4AF on it now. I'll probably reinstall CoH very soon. I used to play Rollercoaster Tycoon III, but haven't been playing it much since TB started. But It is totally different and great game, so I'll probably reinstall it too.

It's currently a Sunny 2 degrees Fahrenheit here in wonderful Cincinnati, OH. Maybe I should come to JN to warm up?

I added my last Plugin up for Testing in the Devs Downloads this morning. It's pretty cool. A Skinable MS MediaPlayer Plugin that now resizes to fit. It comes with 8 skins. One skins is a Ham Radio, so check that out. I don't know much about Ham Radios, but I found that image on the net and thought it would look cool.

Time for lunch....

L8r...

Hey, Rugg. $70 plus shipping sound fair? I have it mounted on a wooden stand that puts it at about a 15 degree angle and can include that if interested...it's no work of art but is painted military gray .

I have labels in the XKeys Pro now for Falcon but they are just printed labels...I'd have to look to see if I still have the labels that came with it. It's about 18 months old.

If interested, let me know.

Bill, my X52 is almost 3 years old now and is worn some...besides, I always upgrade this time of year

It got to 15 here today...when I pick up my son's M3, it was out of gas (they ship that way) so I had to stop for gas and wouldn't you know it but the car stalled and the battery wasn't recharged enough yet. So I had to jump it in the cold with 20 knot winds ... he's gonna pay for that

That sounds fair Blaster. I wouldn't need the stand because I'm attaching it to my cockpit center panel anyhow. I don't need the labels either, I make and cut out my own.

Where do you live BTW?

I'm in northwest New Jersey, right on the NJ-PA line near Easton, PA. Nearest largish town is Allentown, PA.

Now, I wish I were in AZ, or FL, or SoCal, or anyplace warmer than this

Never been to Russia...although it's a place I'd like to visit (in the Summer time ).

Retirement is great...I was worried I'd be bored but I don't have near enough time to do all the stuff I want to do. I'm trying to talk the wife into selling the house, buying an RV, and going full time on the road to the warmer places in this great country ... unfortunately, she doesn't quite see it my way

I have just ordered X52 Pro and rudder pedals after selling my Cougars on ebay. Some ppl have said im mad for letting go of the Cougars but i tried the x52 pro and pedals around a friends house and he has tried my cougars etc we both came to the same conclusion that the X52 pro was just better. I wish i could tell why but they just are
