Anyone here have a nice combo of a touchbuddy profile to work with a x52 and trackir all mapped out for Falcon 4 AF Or RV? I was thinking it would be best to get a complete solution so that the touchbuddy profile can make up for the x52's shortcomings ,etc. Also waht is considered to be the best profile for falcon 4 out of the several? Also is there any chance of doing the exporting like lomac in falcon 4?

Not yet...but I'm headed there. My goal is to put together profiles for FSX, LOMAC, and F4:AF that take into account using the X52 Pro, TIR, and voice commands for radio work.
Once I get there, I'll be real happy ![]() One suggestion, if you're thinking of starting down that path, use a spreadsheet (or paper and pencil) to list all the commands you want with columns for the assigned keystroke(s), TB, HOTAS, Voice Commands, and any other command peripheral you might have. It'll make it a lot easier to program everything and will let you see at a glance if you have all your commands covered.

I have done something like this for Janes F/A-18, in the course of building a TB profile for that sim. I would say even that it takes into account the X-52 HOTAS, TIR, voice commands, and also push-to-talk programs like Ventrillo and Teamspeak (some buttons work well, some don't). I decided to build my own in-game keyboard (command key assignments) to be released with it. When I get a little closer to being 'ready for primetime' I will post it on this site for others to critique and tweak.
What you suggest with the spreadsheet would have been useful, but I was able to do mine by just grouping the commands (key assignments) on paper, in excel. I also had the benefit of having the keyboard arrangements from 4 or 5 other flyers with different HOTAS and hardware setups, so I was able to pick and choose the things I liked/wanted from that in making my own. Also, I made a conscious effort to build in some overlap in terms of ways to enter the command. For instance, I can issue radio commands using VAC, or by calling up the comms pages in my TB profile. Many of the buttons and switches on my HOTAS are also programmed in my TB profile, or will be. Plus the cockpit in that sim is fully clickable 3D, all the time -- other sims are hard to fly after getting used to this -- so there is always that third option of just moving the mouse to do what you need. The goal is to (1) have absolutely no need for the keyboard, and (2) have several ways to do the most common cockpit tasks. I will at some point go through and adapt my TB profile (together with X-52) for the Superhornets that I have in FS. Blaster, I am interested in what you describe for F4:AF. I only know a few commands, enough to fly around but not really fight. I'd like to use TB and your command layouts, etc, to learn the sim as a newbie. I'll be looking for that when I get my other sim projects completed. Ripcord |

There are a lot of mods for it. Go here, and look for the installation tree, or some kind of instructions. The dance is pretty nerve-wracking, but worth it.
http://tsh.war-fighters.net/ If you have Janes F-15, then you can fly in the Persian Gulf theater as well, in Janes FA-18. A new version will be coming out in a few months, I think. Maybe in a few weeks, but not sure. There are a lot of things that are good in this, and a lot of things that kinda suck. Graphics aren't that great, nor can we add new worlds or terrains, but a lot of cool things can and have been done, a lot of improvements actually. You can always find a copy of it these days on e-bay - new or used. Ripcord |
