Here is my idea I am going to get going on. I just wanted to run it by you guys to see what you think of my idea. I think I will use the layout of the Falcon 4 AF keyboard layout that came with it or I found somewhere that shows all the commands as they are mapped to a regular keyboard. This diagram would be a perfect template for a full screen touch key profile that would allow the user to see each letter and what it does and use it. The difference of this and the 2 page doc that it starts as is that instead of cramming all three special key state assignments on a single key letter I would make a separate tab for each state to flip to. For example the ususal as it is in the f4:aa layout green for shit+ "key" blue for ctrl + "key" and red for alt + "key" and so on. There appears to be a total of up to 8 states for each key as a default layout with this particular sim. I can't really imagine needing more than that at this point for any game or sim but the option is always there. With this template anyone can just import the default or custom key assignments and definitions right to the key for any game or program with out too much hassle.

Thanks for the quick input...now to get it all put together lol I was hoping someone would post a response soon to see if I was on some sort of right track. I just tried out the newest Live for Speed profile and its so nice to have all the xtra stuff right there to click on if needed. Then I looked down at my desk at my 2 pages of printed key decripter for f4 it hit me that all the commands and full laptop size keyboard fit readable on a single screen. The special and number pad on another. Its simple but familiar to anyone.

So, your profile will look like a keyboard layout? With different Tabs for each Shift, Alt, Ctrl state? Sounds interesting....
How big will this profile be? 800x600? Just wondering how readable the buttons will be if you try to fit the entire keyboard on one tab... But sounds like an interesting idea.

Not sure if you have this already but this would be my template to start with. When I printed it to paper it looks very nice and readable. If the controls typed on the keys are short enough I think it should fit. 800 x 600 is the max res for most people with touch screens and or touch overlays right? I'll take a look at that pic now at that res to see if it will work at that res. http://www.graphsim.com/Downloadable...ylayout-us.zip

Yea,I have that. I just tried displaying it on my 8" touchscreen. It seems the button sizes are reasonable if you don't include the right side of the keyboard(arrow keys to numpad keys). Still will be interested in what you come up with. But keyboards are not the same all over the world, so it will be a little different for a few users.
Good Luck.

At some point, I am planning to get into F4:AF and really try to learn it. So I'm very much interested in this idea, if it supports AF.

Yea me too...I want to know how to fly it but there is such a time consuming learning curve. I got a couple buddies to get it and we played online with hyperlobby pro. Needless to say they picked it up better than I did and I get skooled way too much. I need to learn it to have more fun fighting in it.
