When you're not doing flight sims, that is. I like doing flight sims, even though I've been away a bit, but the thing is, I feel I have to be able to devote a couple hours (minimum) when I do. Hooking everything up and getting in game, let alone mission planning, flight time & such just mandates that for me.
I'm looking for something strategic, in depth, yet easy to get into (and without a massive learning curve). I can't handle real time strategy, but used to love doing turn based (anyone remember Heroes III?). Anyway, I know we are all different in our likes/dislikes and abilities. So whatcha like to do when you ain't in the blue?

If you like turn based games, here's something that may be worth checking out during the summer. Release date not certain yet:

I have played Flight Sims since the late eighties when F-19 Stealth Fighter came out and others. But I go in spurts. I'll get into them for 2-4 years, then get bored and get into strategy, then try some FPS, but never really get into those. Then I eventually come back to flight sims.
Right now, I'm a little burned out on them. Plus summer is here and there are other things to do. But I have started playing SH4 and love it. It is a sim, but you need to learn strategy to manage your diesel, batteries, air, and also learn how to be sneaky and hide. I have found that it is best to run at 2/3 when using desiel on the surface to save fuel. Also run at 1/3 when running on batteries to make them last the day until I can surface at night and recharge them. Run on the surface at night, and under during the day in enemy territory or those nasty aircraft will bomb you. The Quick missions are kind of quick. But most missions require you to cross vast distances, so I run at 2/3 on the surface and use time compression to speed up the game. Once in enemy territory I have to play smart and hide. The graphics are great too.
