Default One last attempt at TB

1. Tb (1.3.18-20070614-full) loaded on Laptop and desktop connected by 5e cable to NIC in each rig. No router for the connection. I only connect to the internet through a wireless router. Both rigs share internet connection. Since I connect peer-to-peer using a 5e cable Windows XP assigns a default 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2. Network communicates...they ping respective IPs. I can share files, print and everthing else that one might do connected by two pcs in local network.

2. TB is extracted on each pc. The cfg file "server stuff" uses the IP I connect to for client 192.168.0.2. "Client stuff" uses the IP for game/server rig 192.168.0.1. New password I created is the same for both rigs.

3. On client pc load profile press "lets go" and the TB GUI loads. On game pc/server press "lets go" UI hangs on "starting sever mode" it fails to launch.
I'm stumped!

Hey Einstein...you've done everything right as described in your post. All you need to do now is start LOCKON: FC. Did you think about that one? Jeez; then click on the NTW button (for network play, remember the one you just setup?) match IP and password with your client rig and your good to go. I can't believe this guy!

So John, you finally got it working? You were just getting that TB message "starting server mode", so you didn't try to see if it worked??

Hi Bill,

Yeah, well I kinda-sorta didn't know what the heck to do next so I fired up LOFC and dinked around with the network play and whaddaya know! It works!

When the UI for server said "Starting Server Mode" I was anticipating another UI would launch similar to the client side. When that didn't happen I thought I'd done something wrong. All in all I'm just another brick in the wall. Thanks, Wild Bill.

No problem.

When we first added that, I thought it should say "Server Mode has started", or something that more explicitly says it was ready to go. But that was minor with all the other stuff we had to do, so I didn't say anything.

Glad you got it working...
