Default Micrsoft Word Plug-in Issue

WBK,

I'm now starting to use the MS Word plug-in feature for Touchbuddy as a checklist feature.

However, I noticed that it will crash TB whenever I move the mouse cursor to the upper part of the screen, particularly the title bar or the horizontal ruler bar of MS Word. I don't press any of the mouse buttons, just the mere movement of the mouse pointer into these two areas cause it to crash every time. Everything else seems to work fine.

By the way, I'm using Microsoft Word 2000, and I'm using the .DOC format.

Is this a known issue, or is a configuration issue on my part?

Bill

I have not heard of this problem before. I have used .doc files in in the plugin windows in the past I think. I'm not sure... I just tried it in the Toolkit and in TB and it asks me to 'Open' the .doc file, which is expected I think. But it doesn't work very good for me. I am using Office 2002.

I would suggest you make sure you have all of the updates/patches for both Word/Office and also IE. You might also try using an Excel Spreadsheet .xls file as the plugin and see how that works.

In either case you cannot type in the, or any plugin. Since TB is designed to 'not take the focus' like a normal app, so it doesn't make your game go to desktop, it can not have the focus and cannot recieve keyboard input. So, all you could do is read the word doc.

WBK,

I found a workaround.......save the Word file as an HTML file.

It seemed to fix the issue. Not sure why the .DOC file causes an issue.
