TouchBuddy needs your Help!

After many years of hosting the TouchBuddy website for free, our buddy Dodger is no longer able to continue hosting the website. Thanks for all your support and work on this site Dodger!

I am not able to host the site either. So, we are looking to see if there is anyone who might be interested in hosting the site themselves just to keep it going? Dodger has told me that all the site would need is Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP (LAMP), which is available on most servers. We could migrate the site and domain name over and this way we could keep all of our threads, posts and downloads.

If you think you might be interested, or know someone who could continue hosting the site, please let us know. The site does not need an expensive server. Things have slowed down over the past year and we do not have a ton of traffic or downloads, so bandwidth should not be an issue. And I would continue to moderate and answer any questions that I can.

Hey WBK, I sent you an email with my idea. I don't want to throw the name out there untill I hear something back but I did just have a chat with maybe a backer...the info is being passed on to the higher ups so I'm not sure if they will want to take on anything like this. They make hardware and don't really do anything on the software side. It would, however, be a good match for them so who knows, maybe they will see the benefits and help. Cross your fingers.

Hey well i use One.com for webservice and it cost like a Cheeseburger (1,25 euro) every month :-) might work?

Thanks guys and everyone who replied to my email. I had several users reply with offers to help. Dodger is in contact with one user right now and trying to work out the details of him taking over hosting for free.

If all goes well we will have this taken care of. If not, I will be in contact with you again.

Hey guys, unfortunately the first candidate didn't work out as his hosting account was a too limited to allow for the migration (we got close).

For migration to succeed we need a host that has a shell account.
