My question may be idiotic, but I'm wondering if TB will handle a widescreen, or is it limited to the standard 4:3 resolutions. If I start using widescreen resolutions, will things get all stretched out or will TB not care. I plan on not using a network but having everything running off the same computer if that helps my inquiry.
I found a really nice 22" widescreen touch screen that I'd like to use to work with BS's clickable cockpit, but I also want to use TB for those games that don't have such a cockpit (such and IL2 or Oleg's upcoming one which should have a Korean mod later). Plus I can see lots of other titles where TB can come in really handy. Thank you for any help. |

TB is just like any other program. It does not care or even know what the monitor it is dispalyed on looks like. So, yes. It will work on a widescreen.

Corsair, just throwing my $.02 in here ... I've had no problems running TB on a 15.4" widescreen laptop with a correctly-sized widescreen touch overlay. TB performs just like it's supposed to.

That's worth a lot more than $0.02 to me - thank you for sharing your experience with me. In retrospect my question was likely silly, but I just don't know that much about hardware.
Again, thank you for your help. |

Oleg's new sim is called Storm of War: The Battle of Britain and will essentially be about what the title describes. This is not an addition to IL2, but a whole new start with enhanced engine and everything (I guess how BlackShark is not part of Lomac and not compatible). But, the big news for me is that someone is already modifying that game to have a Korean war sim (MiGs and Sabres).
Oleg stated fairly early that he wasn't into clickable cockpits and I don't see him changing his mind and so I don't think the Korean mod will have it either then. As a result, perfect for Touch-Buddy to come to the rescue. You can see some development work on Storm of War on YouTube if you search for that. |

My memory may be a bit vague
, but as far as I can remember TB can deal with widescreens in two ways:It can stretch the profile (images, buttons and button locations) so it fits the new screen size, but it will distort the buttons and images or It can resize the profile so that it fits the screen *AND* keep the correct aspect ratio (it will leave a blank area on screen where the profile doesnt fit) I`ll have to dig out the config options to force TB to do these, but I know it can do it.

I suspected that it may be either of those posibilities. I don't mind the extra space on the sides. I may even make my own setup that would take advantage of the widescreen (borrowing the incredible work of others heavily I suspect).

Here we go. Original profile on a 800x600 screen
![]() Then the same profile on a 800x480 widescreen, and stretched to fit ![]() And then the same profile on 800x480 screen, but keeping the same aspect ration as the original ![]() It can also scale from one screen size to another quite happily. Here is the 800x600 profile on a 320x240 screen ![]()
