Help and Recomendations for New Setup using Dastardly's Profiles

Hi,

In taking my cockpit setup for DCS black shark to the next level I would like to get Touch Buddy up and running using Dastardly's Design for a duel monitor set up shown in the Profiles section of this site. I have a few questions which i hope you guys will be able to help me with as I am not very techie on stuff like this.

1) What would be the best choice of touch screen (Make SIZE and Model) to run a duel sceen setup using Dastardly's profile? Please note I cannot fit anything bigger that a 17"screen into my current cockpit setup.

2) It mentions that in the setup that both monitors should be set to 1024x768 and forgive me if this is a dumb question but will my wide screen 26" Samsung Syncmaster still run black shark at 1900x1200? and is the 1024x768 just the desk top resolutions for each of the screens?

3) Dastardly obviously has a particular choice of Touch Screen he uses. Would anyone know or would he personnaly like to recommend the optimal screen.

Hi Rob,

I have not used his profile because my touchscreen is too small. I have a 8". And for questions about how to configure blackshark to display the Shkval and ABRIS on the second screen would best be asked on the DCS forums. You need to edit a file called options.lua to tell BS where to put the these two windows.

If I were going to do this setup, I would have a screen at least as large as the one DD is using, whatever that is. Maybe larger, if I did some research and that seemed appropriate.

I believe you will be stuck at 1024 on both screens, but this is better asked on the DCS forums. But I am not sure it has to be 1024. Maybe they both just have to be the same size, and his setup just works best at 1024, so he set it up that way?

Not sure what you mean by optimal screen? A touchscreen is simply a monitor with a touchglass over it that acts as a mouse. If you already have a monitor you could buy a touchscreen overlay to just put over it. DDs touchscreen is no better or worse than any other touchscreen probably. There are many users here who are using different touchscreens with no problems.
