I am hard at work on a file for Black Shark. I am capturing and creating buttons like a madman.
I have a image of a knob I want to use as a button the purpose of which is to brighten and darken a display. In the sim when you roll the mouse wheel over the knob it acts like er well a knob or if you press and hold say key 1 to brighten and key 2 to darken. When you lift your finger from the key it stops. Question is is how do I take a single image of this knob and program it to both darken and brighten the display in an easy way? Thanks out

Are you a beta tester for BS?
As for the knob, I don't know how you would do that right now. The buttons are just toggle and hold on/off right now. No 'rotating' knobs yet... But this sounds like it could be a type of hold button where the hold state is just as long as you hold your mouse button down to send the 1 key. Then the another one for the 2 key...

![]() - add "button type = touch/push" to make buttons emulate "hold" buttons, but only when pressed down (select) and up (deselect) possible tie in with "hold" routines to make it easier, and less code to write (which would be almost identical to "hold" anyway).

Thanks for the replies.
This would be a very cool addition guys thanks for considering. Also I was thinking. Assuming you add this feature, can I take the image of the knob and divide the touch portion into an upper and lower zone so now when you touch the upper half of the knob image the display brightens and if you touch the lower half of the image it darkens? In this way couldn't a single knob image perform almost as you might expect in the real world? Out

after watching the ka-50 startup video on lockon.ru this morning, I can see BlackShark just crying out for a single TB button to do all the startup selections in one pass with a huge macro definition

Yes TB will be essential I believe when BlackShark arrives.
There is quite a few startup switches and buttons. Not to mention countermeasure systems, navigation systems, datalink system, etc etc. Plus you have your standard Lockon planes and controls. I'll have to check Polecat, but Im sure the key command for these knobs would be the answer to your buttons/knobs. Increase control on press, using incremental values. Perhaps a knob is not needed, just buttons(4) to implemnt increments gradually, and automatically, that is auto increase in increments instead of increment via key presses instead of single press. Dont forget we'll have improved export.lua functionality as well. ![]() ![]() |

In LO:BS, with the display brighten/darken, is there a key combo for these? Is it a "press and hold, then release when at the required brightness", or a "press to increment/decrement a step" kind of button in game?
