Default Is this ok for a client/server setup?

After a very long break from simming (original Falcon ) I've decided to start again with Lock on and the upcoming Black Shark. I've ordered Track Ir and a HOTAS and Touchbuddy is IMO an excellent add on!

The client/server setup looks the most interesting to me and I came across this pc, the site is in Dutch but specs en pic are visible in this link: http://koopjes.marktplaats.nl/comput.../52274356.html

It has an ethernet network port and a thermal printer but I won't be using the latter much

Will this work??

I`m not sure i`m brave enough to say a definite "yes"... 900MHz Celeron and only 256Mb of RAM might cause a few problems. Is it running win2000 and XP?

If you turned off all non-essential services to conserve memory, then *maybe* Touchbuddy should start up without problems... whether the PC has enough "grunt" to cope with current (and future ) features is another matter.

Thanks for your fast reply!

It's running w98. Is this OS compatible with Touchbuddy?

I might pull of a Xp lite installation.

I havent tested TB on Win98 for many many months, so some/many new features may not work. Almost certainly some future features will fail on win98.

I'll take my chances with a xp install. I've got plenty mem modules so that won't be a problem. Thanks again

So you're probably running xp right?

It's a Point Of Sale system but the seller isn't too sure about xp compatibility so I might be stuck with 98. I'd be happy if just the basic functions would work, replacing ctrl-alt-n ingame. I know it will help me with the steep learning curve of LO

The problem is that somewhere along the way, i`ll add a feature/display/graphic/handler or something that will only run on w2k or xp. I really must get my VMWare box running again so I can test these things.

Yeah, XP Pro. I figure it's best my gaming rig and the TB machine run the same OS.

For systems requirements sake it would be nice to hear a definitive yes or no. These POS systems, with 15" touch screen, can be found for around 50 euros which is a bargain. I'll be picking this one up today and report my findings.

I guess that's a logical assumption. I've contacted Epson for xp compatibility but it's like pissing in the wind..
