Lightbulb TB on smaller Touchscreen, possible?

Hi, everybody

Is it possible to make TB run on a Handheld device, such as PDA, GPS. I know many of them using winCE as OS, which should not be too different from other windows

So is it possible to run TB on such a device? I know many people have at least one or two such Handheld PC, so if TB could work on it, it would be great. The touchscreen on these devices are relative small, between 3.5' to 4', however that's better than none, and in my view it is big enough to put a whole F16 ICP on it.

Thanks for viewing.

TB is only a win32 application (and borderline runs under WINE in Linux). As I have no access to any handheld hardware, I cannot tell you if it will or wont work... but its doubtful.

Thanks Zorlac,

Well, I don't think the current TB will run on any of these HPC.

I am thinking of making a "TB" winCE version. Personally, I don't have any software developing skill, neither on Windows XP or WinCE. But if it is doable, I hope somebody could tell me how to do it. Maybe just a direction.

Hey Meyvn, sounds like an interesting project. Without development skills though, its going to be extremely tough going.

Keep us posted on how you go.

Yeah, it would be very tough.

Does anybody here know anything about WinCE or how to write program for WinCE?

Is there any quick way to convert win32 application into WinCE application? I know WinCE has a different kernel than XP.

Anyway, PDA size touchscreen are everywhere nowdays, smart phone, gps, PDA etc. Usually they are connected with the computer by a USB cable. So if they could run TB, then we would have many specified touch screen panels to use.

One of the other problems, beyond having to code for WinCE, is the amount of memory these profiles use. As all button/background images are loaded and converted into 24-bit graphics at load time, they take up a lot of memory. An example: If I load up Ruggbutt's F15 profile, the program uses 27Mb, the image data takes up an additional 20Mb... and that doesnt include any ActiveX data that may be loaded for PDFs or web pages.

If you're developing .Net (just an example), it has built in tools for using code across platforms, though you must have the source code and the source code must be .Net.
