glad its working now.

Question: when you unzip the profiles, did you tell it to recreate the full directory structure? Sonds lke you are unzipping everything into a single directory, but the profiles supplied in the "core" and "full" touchbuddy distribution file all have the correct directory structure, and the profiles point to them.

Which TouchBuddy release did you download? exe/core/full?

1) I'm not entirely sure what you mean by telling it to recreate the full directory structure, but I simply had Winzip unzip TB and TB tool kit each into their own folders.

2) I re-installed by downloading the full build of the 1.3.18 release - that seemed to work

As an aside, I could tell that the directory path was not correct for the buttons I was trying to create - it would basically list the full Windows path, repeated twice in a row (oddly). When I looked at the profiles that came with the download their path was much shorter, basically just listing the path from the profiles folder down (or pretty close to that, can't recall exactly). I then moved my button folders in the some configuration as the folders for the other working profiles and then all seemed fine.

thanks again for your prompt responses!

now I need to go find a touch screen....
