Not sure the best thread/forum to post in... but here it goes.
I'm kinda interested in now in a 8" x 8" touchscreen. Is there such an animal? I found this info on the web regarding cockpit instruments on the F/A-18E. The single seat F/A-18E will have the 5 x 5-inch central display of the F/A-18C replaced by a new 8in x 8in flat panel active matrix LCD. The two other 5in x 5in multipurpose CRT screens are retained, as is the existing HUD, except that the control panel just below it will be replaced by a monochrome touch-sensitive screen. All displays (two CRTs, one color LCD, and one monochrome LCD) will be made by Kaiser. The rear cockpit of the F/A-18F had identical instrumentation, except that it has no HUD and the 8in x 8in screen is located above the landscape-format touch screen. Here is a good photo for reference. http://www.simpits.org/database/Real...ts/FA18E_1.jpg I know this is a strange question, but has anybody ever come across a SQUARE touchscreen for sale out there? Eventually (in a year or two) I think I'd like to start a dedicated F/A-18 pit project. Just getting ideas for it now. Maybe I just have to go with the 8" x 6" version, which is what everybody here is using, and add in those comms dials/buttons off to the side.
