Ripcord - TB has an option to scale profiles so they fit you own screen size, even wide screens. It can up or down sample the profile, and keep the aspect ratio if required (so it doesnt look squashed on a wide screen). You could also let the screen itself do the scaling, setting it to display 800x600, but the screen then downscales the display on the fly to match its 640x480 native resolution. Either way, if it downscales, it will lose some of the finer detail (I have found that the downscale in TB is better than most of the screens doing downscaling). Most of the 640x480 screens are cheaper than the 800x600 screens (well, obviously!
) but having never used one, I cannot tell you what issues or problems it could cause. Its your call, it will still work fine....Hipshot - Exchange rate right now is great for me, but not so great for you US guys. Its approx £1 to $1.96 or something.

The Dollar hit it's lowest in 20 years I think, just last week.
I use the profile scaling and it works great. I am always wondring if I would like a 800x600 native resolution better though...

Two things I thought I'd never write:
1. I'm glad I'm being paid in rubles. I'm doing pretty nicely in US dollars, thank you (which doesn't mean my bread and beer here is any cheaper).... 2. I'm glad I lost that e-bay auction today (now I'll get one with the 800x600 display). Question -- it seems I have a choice here, both of them for sale in the US. Get the Innovatek TM-868 for $150 +$25 shipping, or get the Lilliput FA801-TV/C/T for $229 + $20 shipping. Resolution is higher on the Lilliput, up to 1600x1200. TM-868 resolution is only 640 RGB x 480. But both work, according the start of this thread. Is there really a noticeable difference (something work paying $75 more)? its the native resolution thats important. the one that does 1600x1200 is hardware scaling the image to fit its native resolution. my LinITX screen si 800x600 native, but can do up to 1600x1200 (scaled down) and it loses a lot of detail, makes things a bit blurry/fuzzy.
WBK, you have a TM-868, dont you? and Rugbutt has a lilliput I think (not sure which model). Given what I know now, I am glad I got a screen that is 800x600 native

Yes, I have the Innovatek TM-868 with a native res of 640x480.
I design most of my profiles for 800x600, and then have TB profile scale them down to 640x480. I would rather not have to scale them at all because you do get a little distortion. That's the only reason I would like a 800x600 native res one.
