Default HAMI 8", 800x600 nativ

Greetings aces

Got a brand-new HAMI 8" touchscreen of ebay at 170USD from HongKong. Works like a charm. As far as I read up HAMI offers one of the best image qualities for car entertainment. Might worth a look.

Do you have any pictures of your unit? Would be a nice addition to the site (at a later date) to show the units we all have.

OK, got the same monitor - HAMI, 8" - looks beautiful with all the buttons set up from Touch Buddy (thanks for such an amazing program!)

One thing with the HAMI, it didn't come with any drivers, so I let windows install what it wanted to - the touchscreen works, but it's almost rotated 90 degrees - in other words, I touch the right side of the screen and the pointer moves to the bottom. I touch the left side and the mouse moves to the top!

I know this is just a driver issue - how can I fix this?!

Thanks for any help!

OK, got it to work!

Installed the Touchkit drivers off of the mp3car.com website. It hung up at 90% while it scanned the COM ports, but when I rebooted the screen works great! STarted beeping whenever I would touch it.

I did the 4 point calibration and all is well - is there a way to hide the mouse pointer?

You can hide the pointer in Touchbuddy, it's on the TB tab.

I'm also currently looking for a TS here in Aus, so any info regarding what and were the aussie distributors|suppliers would be appreciated.

Cheers
Chris

I got my Hami a few days ago, and everything works on it... except for the touchscreen. It's an eBay purchase so I'm really hoping it is just a driver issue and not the monitor itself.

I'm using what seems to be the lastest touchkit from egalax.

Anyone want to direct me to sites that have working drivers?

No such luck, but thanks for the quick response.

Strongly suspecting that the touchscreen or maybe even just the usb cord are dead but I'll keep trying with drivers for a bit.
